Nagplano ang mga manugdumala sang mga Judio nga patyon si Jesus

Ebanghelyo subong nga Adlaw (Juan 11:45-56)

Madamo sa mga Judio nga nagbisita sa ila ni Maria ang nagtuo kay Jesus pagkakita nila sa iya ginhimo.

Pero ang sa ila nagkadto sa mga Pariseo kag nagsugid sang ginhimo ni Jesus.

Gani gintawag sang mga Pariseo kag sang mga manugdumala nga mga pari ang tanan nga miyembro sang Korte sang mga Judio. Kag sang nagatilipon na sila, nagsiling sila, "Ano bala ang aton himuon? Madamo nga mga milagro ang ginahimo sang sini nga tawo.

Kon pabay-an lang naton siya, ang tanan magatuo na sa iya nga siya amo ang hari sang Israel. Kag kon amo ini ang matabo, sulungon kita sang mga soldado sang Roma kag gub-on nila ang aton templo kag ang aton bug-os nga nasyon!"

Pero ang isa sa mga kaupod nila nga si Caifas, nga pangulo nga pari sadto nga tuig, nagsiling, "Wala gid kamo sing nahibaluan!

Wala bala ninyo mahunahunai nga mas maayo pa nga isa lang ka tawo ang mapatay para sa aton nasyon kaysa ang bug-os nga nasyon ang madula?"

Wala niya ato ginhambal nga iya-iya lang, kundi bilang pangulo nga pari sadto nga tuig, naghambal ang Dios paagi sa iya nga kinahanglan nga mapatay si Jesus para sa mga Judio.

Kag indi lang para sa ila, kundi para man sa tanan nga mga anak sang Dios nga naglalapta sa iban nga lugar, agod matipon sila kag mangin isa sila tanan.

Halin sadto nga adlaw nagplano ang mga manugdumala sang mga Judio nga patyon si Jesus.

Gani wala na nagsagad pakita si Jesus sa mga banwa sang mga Judio, kundi nagkadto siya sa lugar nga malapit sa kamingawan, sa isa ka banwa nga ginatawag Efraim. Didto siya nagtenir kaupod sang iya mga sumulunod.

Karon, malapit na lang ang piesta sang mga Judio nga ginatawag Piesta sang Paglabay sang Angel. Gani madamo nga mga tawo ang nagpa-Jerusalem agod sa indi pa mag-abot ang piesta makapakatinlo sila sang ila kaugalingon suno sa pagsulundan sang ila relihiyon.

Ginpangita nila si Jesus, pero wala nila makita. Gani nagpinamangkutanay sila, "Ano bala sa banta ninyo? Indi gid siya siguro magpamiesta, di bala?"

Prayers:

"Lord Jesus, may we your disciples be ever ready to lay down our lives in conformity to your will, to willingly suffer and die for you, that we may also share in your victory and glory."

Reflection of the Daily Gospel:

Do you allow fear or opposition to hold you back from doing God’s will? Jesus set his face like flint toward Jerusalem, knowing full well what awaited him there (Luke 9:51; Isaiah 50:7). It was Jewish belief that when the high priest asked for God's counsel for the nation, God spoke through him. What dramatic irony that Caiaphas prophesied that Jesus must die for the nation. The prophet Ezekiel announced that God would establish one people, one land, one prince, and one sanctuary forever. Luke adds to Caiphas’s prophecy that Jesus would gather into one the children of God who are scattered abroad. Jesus came to lay down his life for the many, but not in a foolish reckless manner so as to throw it away before his work was done. He retired until the time had come when nothing would stop his coming to Jerusalem to fulfill his Father's mission.

Augustine wrote: "The passion of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is the hope of glory and a lesson in patience. ..He loved us so much that, sinless himself, he suffered for us sinners the punishment we deserved for our sins. How then can he fail to give us the reward we deserve for our righteousness, for he is the source of righteousness? How can he, whose promises are true, fail to reward the saints when he bore the punishment of sinners, though without sin himself? Brethren, let us then fearlessly acknowledge, and even openly proclaim, that Christ was crucified for us; let us confess it, not in fear but in joy, not in shame but in glory."The way to glory and victory for us is through the cross of Jesus Christ.
