"Si Jesus nagpakita liwat sa Linaw sang Tiberias"

Ebanghelyo subong nga Adlaw (Juan 21:1-14)

Sa tapos sini nga mga hitabo si Jesus nagpakita liwat sa iya mga gintuton-an didto sa Linaw sang Tiberias. Amo ini ang paagi sang iya pagpakita.

Si Simon Pedro, si Tomas nga gintawag ang Kapid, si Natanael nga taga-Cana sa Galilea, ang mga anak ni Zebedeo, kag ang duha pa gid ka mga gintuton-an ni Jesus nagatilipon didto.

Si Simon Pedro nagsiling sa ila, “Mangisda ako.” Nagsiling sila sa iya, “Maupod kami sa imo.” Gani naglakat sila kag nagsakay sa sakayan, pero sa sadto nga gab-i wala gid sila sing may nakuha.

Sang nagabutlak na ang adlaw, si Jesus didto nagatindog sa baybayon, pero ang mga gintuton-an wala makakilala nga si Jesus yadto.

Dayon nagsiling sia sa ila, “Mga anak, may kuha bala kamo?” “Wala gid,” sabat nila.

Nagsiling sia sa ila, “Iladlad ninyo ang inyo sahid sa tuo nayon sang sakayan, kag may makuha kamo.” Gani ginladlad nila ang sahid kag indi sila makasarang sa pagbatak, kay sa pagkadamo sang ila nakuha nga isda.

Ang gintuton-an nga hinigugma ni Jesus nagsiling sa kay Pedro, “Ang Ginoo ini!” Sang pagkabati ni Simon Pedro nga ang Ginoo yadto, gintampi niya ang iya bayu (kay gin-uba niya ini) kag nagsugbo sa tubig.

Ang iban nga mga gintuton-an nga yadto sa sakayan nagdungka nga nagabutong sang sahid nga puno sang mga isda, kay ang ila kalayuon sa baybayon mga 50 man lang ka dupa.

Sang pagtakas nila, may nakita sila nga nagatumpok nga baga nga may ginasugba nga isda kag may tinapay nga natungtong didto.

Dayon si Jesus nagsiling sa ila, “Dala kamo diri sang isda nga bag-o lang ninyo nakuha.”

Si Simon Pedro nagsaka sa sakayan kag ginbutong niya ang sahid pa higad nga puno sang dalagku nga mga isda nga ang kadamuon 153 ka bilog. Wala magisi ang sahid bisan tama ini kadamo.

Si Jesus nagsiling sa ila, “Dali kamo kag magpamahaw.” Wala gid sing isa sang mga gintuton-an nga nangahas sa pagpamangkot sa iya kon sin-o sia, kay nakilala nila nga sia amo ang Ginoo.

Gani nagpalapit si Jesus, nagkuha sang tinapay, kag ginhatagan sila. Amo man ang ginhimo niya sa isda.

Ikatlo na ini nga pagpakita ni Jesus sa iya mga gintuton-an sa tapos sia mabanhaw.

Prayers:

"Lord Jesus, you are the Resurrection and the Life. Increase my faith in the power of your resurrection and in the truth that you are truly alive! May I never doubt your life-giving word nor stray from your presence."

Reflection of the Daily Gospel:

Why didn’t the apostles immediately recognize the Lord when he greeted them at the Sea of Tiberias? John gives us a clue. He states that Peter decided to return to his home district of Galilee, very likely so he could resume his fishing career. Peter was discouraged and didn’t know what to do after the tragedy of Jesus’ death! He went back to his previous career out of despair and uncertainty. The other apostles followed him back to Galilee. When was the last time Peter was commanded to let down his net after a futile night of fishing? It was at the beginning of Jesus’ ministry in Galilee when the Lord dramatically approached Peter in his fishing boat after a futile night of fishing and commanded him to lower his nets (see Luke 5:4-11). After the miraculous catch, Jesus told Peter that he would be ‘catching people” for the kingdom of God. Now Jesus repeats the same miracle. John, the beloved disciple, is the first to recognize the Lord. Peter impulsively leaps from the boat and runs to the Lord. Do you run to the Lord when you meet setbacks, disappointments, or trials? The Lord is ever ready to renew us in faith and to give us fresh hope in his promises. 

Skeptics who disbelieve the resurrection say the disciples only saw a vision of Jesus. The gospels, however, give us a vivid picture of the reality of the resurrection. Jesus went out of his way to offer his disciples various proofs of his resurrection – that he is real and true flesh, not just a spirit or ghost. In his third appearance to the apostles, after Jesus performed the miraculous catch of fish, he prepared a breakfast and ate with them. Peter’s prompt recognition of the Master and exclamation, It is the Lord! stands in sharp contrast to his previous denial of his Master during the night of arrest. The Lord Jesus reveals himself to each of us as we open our hearts to receive his word. Do you recognize the Lord's presence in your life and do you receive his word with faith?
